A moped gang smashed into a luxury bike dealership before riding off with a rare model worth £28,000.
The gang, travelling on scooters, were captured in shocking CCTV footage posted online by Daytona Motorcycles, Ruislip Manor, London, in a bid for information surrounding the incident.
The shop’s Twitter post said: “Any information on the Kawasaki H2 Carbon that was stolen around 1am 18/07/17 contact us. Retweet please.”
Salesman Bill Rayment told the Mirror Online that there’s only 120 of the stolen model worldwide and just six in this country.
He said: “It’s one of the most exclusive bikes we sell.”
Speaking of the damage done to the shop during the incident, Bill said: “We haven’t got a shop front, the shutters are still damaged.
“We have about three or four bikes that we need to replace parts on because they have been damaged.
“They also stole about four or five helmets, worth £500 each.
“Probably all in about two and a half minutes.”
The shop’s alarm can be heard ringing in the footage, as a man runs in and out, moving bikes around and taking helmets.
An accomplice appears to shout “hurry up” at him, as a couple of men wait outside on scooters.
A group of men then bring a bike out of the shop, before they all drive away down the street in a huddle.
The stolen Kawasaki had been sold and a customer had put a deposit down on it.
Bill said they are not going to be able to get their hands on another one.
He said they will just have to carry on and do all they can to hope the business improves.
“The police are doing everything they can but there’s only so much they can do as their faces (the gang’s) are covered,” Bill added.
“There’s a £5,000 reward for the recovery of the bike or any information leading to the recovery of it.”
A spokesperson from the Met Police said: “Police in Hillingdon are investigating a burglary at a motorcycle shop in Windmill Hill, Ruislip.
“Around five suspects, all riding mopeds and wearing dark clothing and crash helmets, forced entry to the shop by damaging the front shutters and door at around 00.50hrs on Tuesday, 18 July.
“Two motorcycles and other items were stolen. One was found abandoned nearby. The suspects made off in the direction of Victoria Road.
“There have been no arrests, and enquiries are ongoing.
